Thirty years ago, I met a woman who became my best friend for many of those years. Today, her husband called to let me know that she died after a long illness. She was a fighter, battling numerous diseases in the course of her life, and she finally had no strength left. Her death at this point is not surprising, and it is merciful, but I haven't yet grasped the concept of a world without her.
Current Mood: mourning

Condolences on your loss, Esty; beyond that, there are no words.

Thank you! "We sorrow not as others who have no hope." Sorrow and hope go hand in hand at times like this. I know you've experienced enough of that yourself in the past year or so.

What a shock! I'm so sorry, Esty.

Thank you - the verse from I Thessalonians that I wrote in my comment to Formy is important to me right now.

I was in a funeral yesterday, and that verse was an important part of the service as well.
